About
For seven years, Jonathan Washburn stood at the front of a classroom in North Charleston, South Carolina teaching English, History, and Bible. He coached soccer and basketball and eventually became Dean of Students in 2013. At his core, Jonathan has always been an educator—someone who believes that knowledge changes lives.
In 2017, he brought that same calling into the mortgage industry. Today, instead of preparing students for exams, he prepares families for homeownership. Jonathan begins each workday studying updated mortgage guidelines and policy changes because he believes accuracy and expertise are non-negotiable when clients’ finances are on the line.
He is a VA loan expert and he teaches continuing education courses for real estate agents, including “How to Present a VA Offer That Listing Agents Will Accept.” He specializes in VA loans, first-time homebuyers, teachers, and complex files that other lenders often decline. If a deal is “unique,” Jonathan is usually the one who can make it work.
Once known as Dean of Students, Jonathan is now proudly known as “The Dean of Mortgages.” As a mortgage broker, he has access to more than 180 lending partners, allowing him to shop rates and products instead of forcing clients into a one-size-fits-all solution. His mission is simple: provide clear advice, competitive options, and steady guidance from application to closing.
Jonathan and his wife, Anna, live in Mentor, Ohio with their four children—Jack, Charlie, Ava, and Figo. They value faith, family, and community.
Whether you are buying, refinancing, building, or investing, you deserve a loan specialist who treats your mortgage like it matters—because it does. Jonathan is committed to delivering mortgage service that exceeds expectations and empowers clients to make confident financial decisions.
